Flashing
Chimneys, walls that meet the roof, and valleys interrupt the shingle field, and the metal that handles those joints is where most leaks start. Our guide on roof flashing explains why.
Roof Leak Repair · Vancouver, WA
When water gets through your roof, you want someone who finds the real source and fixes that, not the wet spot on your ceiling. Quality Master Roofing & Remodel is a family-owned roofing company in Vancouver, WA, and roof leak repair is part of our everyday work.
Every roof inspection is free, drone-documented, and followed by a written estimate.
Where Water Gets In
Most roof leaks start where the roof is interrupted, not in the middle of a shingle field. Here are the places we check first, and what each one does when it fails.
Chimneys, walls that meet the roof, and valleys interrupt the shingle field, and the metal that handles those joints is where most leaks start. Our guide on roof flashing explains why.
These seal the places where pipes and vents pass through the roof. When the seal cracks, water follows the pipe down into the attic.
A skylight is a hole in the roof with flashing around it, and that flashing is a common leak point. We re-flash skylights and replace failed units, and the cleanest time is during a re-roof.
Wind can lift or tear shingles. Once the underlayment is exposed, a heavy rain can find its way through.
Valleys carry water from two roof planes at once. Debris or worn material there can send water sideways instead of down.
A gutter that overflows can push water behind the fascia and show up as a stain inside. It looks like a roof leak but needs a different fix.
The drip inside is often not under the opening. Water can travel along the underlayment or a rafter before it shows up on the ceiling, which is why a good roofing contractor in Vancouver, WA traces the leak uphill instead of patching the stain.
How We Repair a Roof Leak
We walk the roof, photograph every elevation with a drone, and look at the area around the stain. You get the photos either way.
We inspect the attic for leak signs and follow the water back from the stain to where it enters the roof. This step finds leaks that a look from the ground misses.
You get a written estimate that spells out the repair, so what you approve is what you get. We also tell you if the roof is at the point where replacement makes more sense.
We fix the opening that let the water in, whether that is flashing, a valley, a pipe boot or vent collar, a skylight, or damaged shingles.
Victor walks every project before sign-off, so the job is checked by the owner before it is closed out.
Repair or Replace
Quality Master does both roof repair and full roof replacement, so we have no reason to push you toward the bigger job. A leak around one pipe boot or one skylight is a repair. A roof that keeps leaking in new places is a different conversation.
If your shingles show widespread granule loss in the gutters, curl at the edges, or the roof is 20 or more years old and has already been repaired, replacement is usually more cost-effective than continued patching. We tell you straight, and the inspection that tells you is free.

Leak Repair Reviews
These reviews are from customers whose roofs we diagnosed and repaired, posted on Google and Yelp.
"Victor was the 5th roofing contractor we'd had out and was only one of two that didn't dismiss my concerns. His first suggestion was to check who did the install since it'd likely be covered under warranty. I appreciated that touch when it could've cost him the job."
"Victor was at my home within 2 hrs. He found the issue within 10 minutes and sealed off the area in 20 min. The job was finished the next day in about an hr. Leak is gone."
"Victor came out the same day. He identified a problem that other roofers had missed upon their inspection. They cleaned everything up and provided pictures of the work."
Roof Leak Repair FAQ
Yes. Roof repair is one of our core services in Vancouver, WA. We fix leaking valleys, failed chimney and skylight flashing, cracked pipe boots and vent collars, and wind-damaged or missing shingles. We repair a roof when a repair is the right call and tell you straight when it is not.
We trace the water back instead of patching the wet spot. That means inspecting the roof with drone photos, checking the attic for leak signs, and following the water uphill from the stain to the opening. The drip inside is often not directly under the place the water gets in.
Yes. A leak repair fixes a specific problem, such as a failed flashing or a cracked pipe boot. A replacement removes the roof down to the deck. If your shingles show widespread granule loss, curl at the edges, or the roof is 20 or more years old and has already been repaired, replacement is usually the better investment, and we will say so.
Tarp service is available while a claim or financing is being worked out. If water is coming in, call 360-726-0785, tell us what you are seeing, and ask about a tarp. Please stay off a wet roof yourself, since a ladder and a slick roof is where most injuries happen.
For storm damage, yes. We do free post-storm inspections, document damage with photos and drone footage, and work with your insurance adjuster on covered claims. Whether a leak is covered depends on your policy and how the damage happened, so check with your insurer.
It depends on what is causing the leak, how many spots are involved, and how easy the roof is to reach. Every roof inspection is free, and you get a written estimate for the actual repair so you can see what you are approving.
